Swami Vivekananda The Mahapurusha

There are Only 4 Maha Purushas in our History of Vedic India:

1. Lord Srirama
2.Gowtam budhha
3.Aadi Shankaracharya
4.Swami Vivekananda.

Mahapurusha is a person who has all 32 qualities as described in ancient vedas.
Those qualities not only includes Jnana, vairagya, dhyana But also comprises Dhairya, Sahasa (i.e.. Courageos, Adventourous etc.)

Swami Vivekanda (Narendranath Dutta) who was born on Jan 12, 1863 in Calcutta in an affluent family to Vishwanath dutta, an eminent Advocate and Bhuvaneswari Devi, a well educated woman.

He was actually named as "Veereswarudu". But his family members esp. his father interested in calling him as Narendranath Dutta. Friends and dears used to call him as Naren.

He was boy with inborn extraordinary qualities and features. Meditation was his childhood play.
He was able to meditate for a continuous period of 3hrs in his very small age of 9 years. His concentration was amazing. He was bestowed with extraordinary qualities of super memory, excellent personality, natural charity and rationalistic ideology .

Naren learnt the epics and puranas from his mother . he was a natural leader. naren passed entrance exam from metropolitan institution and fa and ba exam from the general assembly's institution (now it is scottish church college) . Mr. hastie , the principal of the college impressed by naren's philosophical insight . It was from Mr. hastie that he first heard of sri ramakrishna paramahamsa .

As student of philosophy the question of god very much haunted his mind . which made him to meet sri ramakrishna in the later stage . he became a most liked disciple of sri rama krishna . He learnt many things from him and in his presence he could realize the purpose of his birth and took sanyasa. sri ramakrishna suffered from cancer and passed away in 1886. During his illiness a group of selected young men had gatherd round him and began to nurse him while receiving spiritual guidance from him .
naren was the leader of this group . vivekananda traveled extensively through india some times by train , some times on foot . he was shocked to see the conditions of rural india - people ignorant , superstitious , half-starved and victims of caste-tyranny .

vivekananda was the only person who propounded that " the greatest sin of india is neglecting the mases ".

on september 11, 1893 he delivered an historical speech on hinduism, harmony of all the religions
in the interest of nation for next 11 subsequent days made him a world popular person . all the news papers in USA stated on that day that "a hindu saint shaked the parliament of religions, chicago USA ".

In the next year indian govt declared his birth day i.e ., jan 12 as NATIONAL YOUTH DAY .
